Abstract

A stabilising element for a reinforced earth structure comprises a flexible strip of metal or fibre reinforced plastics material 20 having projections 24, 26 to engage earth in which the strip may be embedded thereby acting to resist relative movement. Projections which are formed by portions of the strip turned about axes transversely of the strip can be at one end of the strip and also spaced alternately along its longitudinal edges, in this case comprising tongues partially cut out from the edges. Elements are provided with connections for attachment to facing units for protecting boundary surfaces of a reinforced earth structure. <IMAGE>
