Abstract
201,375. A. C. Cars, Ltd., (formerly Auto-Carriers, Ltd.), and Smith, S. July 7, 1922. Hoods of the cape cart type are provided with pockets or their equivalent which extend transversely across the hood and into which side curtains can slide without folding and may be drawn into their operative position or raised beneath the outer cover of the hood when not required for use. As shown, the hood has rear side extensions and side curtains 4 are adapted to be drawn out of the transverse pocket 9 and fastened in the operative position. The pocket 9 comprises the hood 1 and lining 7, and the side curtains are normally held in the pocket by resilient means which, in the example shown, comprise a double length of rubber tubing 10 attached to the side curtains and anchored at their other end to the remote side of the hood by being passed through an aperture and embracing a wooden bobbin 11.
