Abstract

A knitted blank for an article of clothing has at least one pouched part in the shoulder area and is made commencing with a welt on a first outer section of the blank and knitting up to the shoulder area of the clothing blank with courses of stitches extending over the complete required width of the section; then knitting the rows of stitches from a second edge of the clothing blank over a second outer section and the shoulder area up to a transition zone with a third outer section opposing said second outer section, and from an edge of said third outer section over said third outer section and the shoulder area up to a transition zone with said second outer section more rows of stitches being formed in the shoulder area than in the outer sections and after termination of at least one pouched part knitting a further outer section by the formation of stitch rows which extend over the complete required width of the clothing blank. <IMAGE>
