Abstract

Monorden is produced by cultivation of Diheterospora chlamydosporia. The cultivation takes place in a nutrient medium and the monorden is isolated by adsorption or extraction. It may be converted by alkylation into new derivatives of the formula: <IMAGE> wherein R is alkyl of 2 to 8 carbon atoms, the two R groups being the same or different. Monorden is a known anti-tumour agent. The new derivatives are anti-tumour agents and nematocides.
