Abstract

An improved burglar-proof protective glazing comprises a pane 1 of high impact strength fitted with a mounting strip 5 along one edge. The mounting strip 5 is received in a mounting recess 7 provided in a hollow frame element 2 securable to the window frame by a hinge-like suspension 4. The element 2 also includes a multi-lipped sealing strip 3 mountable in one or both of the receiving recesses 6 and an elastomeric sealing strip 9 for the strip 5. The glazing may be used in association with a shop window of conventional glass. <IMAGE>
