Abstract

A rimless sanitary bowl 1 has an outwardly turned mounting flange 3 surrounding a generally elliptical opening 2, a side wall extending downwardly directly from the opening and comprising a first side wall portion 4, a second side wall portion 5 opposite the first side wall portion and extending downwardly at a shallower angle than the first side wall portion, and two longitudinal side wall portions joining the first and second wall portions and each having a shoulder 8, 9, giving an ogee shape, and a planar panel portion 10 at the inner end of the second side wall portion and adjacent the inner ends of the longitudinal side wall portions. Such a bowl can be used as a water closet bowl with the plane of its opening horizontal, or as a urinal bowl with the plane of its opening inclined to the vertical. <IMAGE>
