Abstract

Particulate material e.g. for abrasive grinders is fed into mould cavities (12, Fig 2 not shown) in a mould part 10 by moving a hopper 7-9 thereover on horizontal runners 2, 3 via a piston 14. Following retraction of the hopper 7, a leveling device 19 is brought above the mould part 10 by a piston 22 and rotatable blades 16 are lowered by a piston 17 to level the material in the cavities. After levelling, the device 19 is retracted and the mould part 10 is moved away horizontally to the press in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axes of the runners 2, 3. The latter are mounted in sockets 4-4'''. The levelling device 19 and hopper 7 are mounted on the runners 2, 3 via bushes (6, 20 Fig 2). <IMAGE>
