Abstract

Apparatus is disclosed for the treatment of effluent by the so-called activated sludge treatment process comprising an aeration vessel (10) and an inclined plate separator (14). Incoming feed to the aeration vessel displaces liquid through the inclined plate separator and suspended solids are deposited for entrainment in a liquid current for return to the aeration vessel. <IMAGE>
