Abstract
A vibration damping matrix of foam material is impregnated with a viscoelastic composition and is thereby held in a compressed state prior to use. When used in car body building, heating of the matrix, for example during passage of the car body through a paint curing oven, will result in releasing of the matrix to expand to fill the available space within which it is expected to carry out its vibration damping function.
