Abstract

A method of dehydrating a tissue specimen or similar object comprising the steps of boiling, in a vessel, a hygroscopic fluid whose boiling point is lower than that of water, condensing the vapour and leading the condensate onto the tissue specimen or similar object, on which it is allowed to work for some time, the condensate extracting water and forming a mixture of hygroscopic fluid and water and at least partly returning the resulting mixture of water and hygroscopic fluid to the said vessel. An apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed. <IMAGE>
