Abstract

A method of and apparatus for identification (e.g. of vehicles which operate under combustible or hazardous conditions), involves generating at a first point a plurality of signals, transmitting the signals from the first point to a second point, returning the signals or information on the signals to the first point with characteristics determined at the second point, and detecting the returned signals at the first point. <IMAGE>
