Abstract

In a fluid-pressure operated braking system for vehicles a brake 1,2;3,4 on a wheel of a vehicle is applied by a pneumatic actuator- operated auxiliary master cylinder 8,9; 12,13. Operation of the actuator 9,13 is controlled by a force from a operator-controlled pedal and the force from the pedal is transmitted to the actuator 9, 13 through a hydraulic to pneumatic pressure converter 11, 15. The pressure applied to the brakes is fed back to the pressure converter 11, 15 to provide a pedal-reaction or "feel". <IMAGE>
