Abstract

In the pipe connection a sealing sleeve (3) is pushed over the pipe ends (1, 2) which are to be joined together and which abut axially. The outer surface of the sealing sleeve (3) widens conically from its ends towards the longitudinal centre. Over the conical outer surface parts are placed clamping means (4, 5, 6) enabling the sealing sleeve to be pressed radially against the pipe ends. In order to prevent the pipe connection from leaking after a short time through the flowing of the plastics material of the sleeve it is proposed that a crystalline proportion of more than 24% should be present in the plastics material. If the joint is to be bridged electrically. contact clips (7) can be pushed onto the ends of the plastics sleeve to provide contact between the pipe ends and clamping means. A corrosion-resistant sealing ring (8) may be trapped between the pipe ends within the sleeve. <IMAGE>
