Abstract
In a compound plate assembly including a hard plastics or metal member having at least one cutaway portion and a platelike synthetic resin member 10 moulded thereon, the member has one or more portions eg dovetails 11, 11' or a cutaway portion having an overall configuration to define a centre eg axis O about which shrinkage of the resin takes place uniformly to allow relief of items without misalignment of the moulded member 10. The centre may be a point or a line (Fig. 13 not shown). The shrinkage direction may be defined by convex or concave portions, (Fig. 12 not shown), triangular (Fig. 9) or elongate slots (Fig. 14), rectangular (Fig. 6) or trapezoidal (Fig. 11) projecting portions. Stop-holes (14, Fig. 10; 16 Fig. 11) may also be provided. <IMAGE>
