Abstract

A screw comprises a metal screw- threaded shank (2) with a plastics extension (7) which is also threaded to allow a nut to travel along it, the extension having a thin bendable mid portion (10) to enable a nut on the end of the extension to be passed through holes in components to be joined, and the extension (7) being moulded around a projection (6, 5) from the shank so as to be retained against rotation and axial displacement. <IMAGE>
