Abstract

Clay undergoes a comminution and mixing process during which additional energy is imparted to the clay by intensive beating or impacting so that a change is brought about in its fine structure in the form of activation by raising its capacity to react, improving its uniformity, resistance to temperature changes and setting characteristics for subsequent processing. A pinned-disc mill may be used, and may be preceded by a roll crushing mill. The product can be used as a sealing core in earth and rock embankments.
