Abstract

A floor cover for an animal stall comprising a grid made up of one or more grid elements each having an upper surface, having through openings (6) for the passage therethrough of animal faeces, and formed of or faced with a wear- resistant, soft to medium hard plastics material. Each grid element can be cast plastics material with embedded longitudinal (7) and transverse (9) metal reinforcing members, or can be a metal sheet dip coated with plastics material or can be formed by apertured plates of cast plastics secured to metal bars. Each grid element has downwardly depending edge portions on which it is supported over a recess in the stall floor having a discharge opening for the faeces. The openings are preferably slots (6) disposed in rows with the slots of one row off-set with respect to slots of adjacent rows. <IMAGE>
