Abstract

An orally aministrable pellet for ruminants comprises a core having a pH greater than 5.5 and containing a medicament or nutrient beneficial to the ruminant post-rumially in the abomasum and/or intestines, the core having a rumen- resistant coating comprising (a) an amino group-containing film-forming polymer having a nitrogen content of 3 to 14% by weight, and (b) 2-75% by weight of the polymer, of a hydrophobic substance dispersed therein.
