Abstract

A cooking pan for frying chipped potatoes in which the fat is located in a channel 1 in the pan base and the potatoes cooked by heat admitted into the pan through a hole 2 in the base the heat causing the fat to evaporate. By this means potatoes are fried without being immersed in fat as in traditional chip fryers. The channel is provided by a rib 5 serving as feet for the pan, a gauze 3 covers the hole 2, and the lid has an internal reflecting surface. <IMAGE>
