Abstract

In effecting heat exchange between a cooling gas and granular material of varying grain size, such as cement clinker, the granular material is continuously fed to the intake 1 of apparatus and then sub-divided into a plurality of flow paths and in each flow path is cooled in counterflow with the cooling gas. <IMAGE>
