Abstract

A water-closet cistern has a discharge siphon tube (7) in which the lower portion (9) of the down leg is deformable or telescopic so as to allow a light-action initiation of the siphoning by depression or tilting of the top end of the tube (7) below the free water level in the cistern (1) as by means of an operating rod (14). As shown the up leg 10 of the siphon tube 7 surrounds its down leg 8-9. <IMAGE>
