Abstract

A growing medium comprises strips of water absorbent paper impregnated with at least one plant nutrient. The shredded paper is mixed so that the strips are randomly orientated with respect to each other, thus enabling efficient aeration of the medium to take place. The growing medium may be used either on the surface of the ground or in water impermeable bags to grow various types of plant.
