Abstract

A washing-machine drive unit comprising a 2-speed (washing and spin drying) electric motor (110), and a planetary gearing (116) which is downstream of this electric motor (110) and comprises a sun gear (118), which is driven by the driven shaft (114) of the electric motor (110), a planet-wheel carrier (126), at least one planet wheel (130) on this planet-wheel carrier (126) and an internal gear (120) and furthermore comprising a centrifugal clutch (138) and a driven member (136), the centrifugal clutch (138) being disengaged at the washing speed and being engaged at the spin-drying speed so that, at the washing speed, the planetary gearing (116) is connected between the driven shaft (114) of the electric motor (110) and the driven member (136) in a speed-reducing manner and, at the spin-drying speed of the electric motor (110), the driven member (136) is driven at the speed of the driven shaft (114) of the electric motor (110), characterised in that the internal gear (120) is mounted so as to be freely rotatable with respect to the motor housing (112) and is brakable by a switch brake (122) so as to be secured thereto and in that the driven member (136) is connected to the planet-wheel carrier (126) in a rotation-proof manner. <IMAGE>
