Abstract
The blade 16, e.g. for a gas turbine, is made in two parts each having an aerofoil portion 21 or 22 and a root portion 17 or 18. Aerofoil portions 21, 22 are contiguous and together form a single aerofoil. Root portions 17, 18 are spaced apart in the direction of the rotor disc circumference and are connected to the disc by respective dovetail connections 23, 24. Centrifugal forces acting through points 25, 26 force aerofoil portions 21, 22 together. <IMAGE>
