Abstract

A deck superstructure 1 is mounted on a marine supporting structure by placing it adjacent to or around a tower 4 on the supporting structure and hoisting it up the tower by cables (or rods) 5 descending from a flange or collar at the top of the tower. The cables are connected to the lower side of the deck and pass freely through the deck and this permits them to be tensioned when the deck abuts the flange. The cables remain in the completed structure to give vertical and shear reinforcement and the assembly is preferably grouted with concrete. <IMAGE>
