Abstract

A final conveyor for transferring crop harvested by a root crop harvester machine to a vehicle travelling alongside comprises a lower section 1, which is pivoted on a frame 3 of the machine, and an upper section 5, which is pivoted at an upper end of the lower section. A support 17 is provided for maintaining the lower section 1 in a working position, in which the section is upwardly inclined. An operating device 11 is coupled to the final conveyor. When the lower section 1 of the conveyor is in the working position and the operating device 11 is operated over a working range, the upper section 5 is caused to pivot relative to the lower section 1, thereby varying the height of an outlet from the upper section 5 to suit the height of a heap of crop on the vehicle. Locking means are operative when the operating device operates over a stowage range, and the coupling between the device and the conveyor is such that the conveyor is moved to a stowed position (Fig. 1c, not shown) wherein the lower section is generally upright. The locking means can be manually or automatically operable. <IMAGE>
