Abstract

An X-ray film cassette comprises a holder 3 containing the film, at least the film containing part of the holder being made of a synthetic material, and a cover 2 which can be clamped to the holder whereby the film can be clamped at a substantially constant clamping pressure over substantially the entire surface thereof, and whereby the film containing area 9 is recessed and corresponding area 10 of the cover protrudes, so that on clamping cover and holder together using clips 5 and 6 a light-tight seal is formed. A groove 7 which surrounds the film and a tongue 8 in the corresponding area of the cover are present to improve the seal. <IMAGE>
