Abstract

A re-cocking trigger device for a large-calibre weapon has a percussion piece 3 coupled to a striker 11 and biassed in a forwards direction by a cocking spring 6. A shoulder 3a on percussion piece 3 normally engages a pawl 4. Turning of a trigger lever 15 in a clockwise direction rotates a shaft 13 to first advance a thrust sleeve 2 against a restoring spring 7 to free a path for percussion piece 3 (meanwhile held by pawl 4), and then causes lifting of pawl 4 to release piece 3 so that the latter impinges on striker 11. Re-cocking after firing and after the release of lever 15 is effected by restoring spring 7, but if striker 11 jams in the firing position or spring 7 breaks, striker 11 can be retracted, via sleeve 2 and piece 3, by turning lever 15 anticlockwise. <IMAGE>
