Abstract

A booster system for a vehicle hydraulic braking system comprises a booster assembly 2 for operating a separate master cylinder assembly 1 by supplying boost pressure to an actuating piston 16 under the control of a control valve 20. The control valve 20 is urged into an open position by an operating pressure generated in a control chamber 12 by operation of a pedal-operated input piston 7, and the boost pressure acts on the control valve 20 to urge it towards a closed position. The control valve 20 is therefore subjected to positive opening and closing forces. <IMAGE>
