Actuating-mechanism; lift valves; spindles.-A lift valve c for discharging a rotating chamber forming part of a pasturizing apparatus is actuated by a lever p operated by a fixed cam m. The stem r of the valve is of spider cross-section and is notched as shown to engage by a joint like a bayonet-joint with a sleeve o sliding on the outside of the valve casing q and pivoted to arms attached to the lever p.
