Abstract

197,754. Tjaarda, J. Feb. 24, 1922. Vehicle lamps, directing. -In means for tilting motor-vehicle head lamps from the driver's seat each lamp is mounted on a forked stem 1, provided with an arm 3 and pivoted at 5 to a support 6 which is also provided with an arm 4, a spring 7 being disposed, between the two arms tending to tilt the lamp. The tilting movement is controlled from a point adjacent the driver's seat by a Bowden cable 8 connected to the arm 3 and is Limited by the engagement of the inclined face 19 of the pivotal member with the face 20 of the arm 4. The lamps may also be adapted for rotation about a vertical axis, the movement being controlled from the steering-gear. For this purpose. each fork is rotatably mounted in a socket in the arm 3 and is formed with an eved projection 22 connected by a Bowden cable 25, Fig. 8, to the steering-arms of the front wheels of the vehicle, stops 35, 36 being provided on the wire so as to cause the inside lamp to turn when the vehicle is travelling on a curve.
