Abstract
196,050. Pochin, H. S., and Russell, A. Jan. 11, 1922. Belts and bands.-Relates to endless chains for elevators, conveyers, &c. of the type carrying grooved blocks on their joint pins for transmitting a frictional drive to or from correspondingly ridged pulleys, and consists in providing dismountable friction blocks which after being disengaged may be partly rotated to bring a fresh or unworn part of the periphery into working position. Circular or other grooved blocks 3 are mounted on the joint pins 4 between links 1, 2 the faces of the blocks being formed with triangular, square or polygonal recesses 3A adapted to fit corresponding bosses 1<A>, 2<A> on the inner faces of the links, or similar bosses on the grooved blocks may engage recesses in the links. The links are preferably bent so that the outer face at one end aligns with the inner face at the other end or other arrangements of links may be employed.
