Abstract

194,397. Towl, L. Dec. 10, 1921. Tools.-Abrasive, polishing, or other flexible sheet material B is mounted upon a holder which comprises a tapered metal casing A, the front face of which may be flat, or of convex, concave, or V-section, and is secured at one end by turning the end of the sheet into the casing and wedging it therein by means of a tapered handle C, the other end of the sheet being folded round the thinner end of the casing and held by a clamp at the back of the casing. The clamp comprises a slotted plate F and an L-shaped plate E which are pressed together, to hold the sheet, by screws E<1>. The slot in the plate F fits over the rectangular head D' of a stud D secured to the rear of the casing; the sheet is stretched by movement of the plates and is held in position bv a nut D<2> and a washer D<3> on the stud. The plate E may be provided with a knob or rounded surface to receive the pressure of the left hand. According to the Provisional Specification, the handle C may be integral with the casing, a separate wedge being provided to hold the end of the sheet B.
