Abstract

194,201. Marks, E. C. R., (Book Bearing Co.). May 10, 1922. Roller bearings.- A cage for roller bearings comprises flanges 25, 26 connected by bridging members 27 forming roller spaces, each of which is of lesser width adjacent one end than the diameter of the part of the roller that fits that end, and the opposite end of each space is as wide or wider than the diameter of that part of the roller which fits within it. Wings 28 hold the rollers in position. The bearing is first assembled as shown in Fig. 9 and the spacing, members 27 are then straightened by pressing the ridge 34 inwardly. The cage may be pressed from a circular disc of sheet metal. Specification 153,867 is referred to.
