Abstract
9683. Payne, E. G. Dec. 22. Rest-bars for wheeled litter carriages. The front and rear supports a are connected together for simultaneous movement about their pivots b and are adapted to be locked in the horizontal and vertical positions. The connexion comprises crank-arms e on the pivot pins b with connecting-rods f. For locking the supports, one of the legs may be formed with a quadrant g having two holes h adapted for automatic engagement by a spring bolt j. In a modified locking-arrangement, Fig. 5, a link k, pivoted at one end to one of the legs, is formed at its other end with a notch m adapted to engage one or other of two bolts n, n<1> fitted to the vehicle. The engagement is in this case non- automatic, the link k being operated by a handle o. The undercarriage may be of the kind described in Specification 18,598/05.
