Abstract

7761. Silvernail, W. S. May 25. Press-button fasteners. - To prevent the fasteners from tearing I ose from the body of the glove &c., washers 10 are employed, comprising a body 11 of leather, felt, or other flexible material with a superposed layer 12 of soft glue. The shank 14 of the fastener 15 is passed through the glove G and a central hole 10<1> in the washer, and when the fastener is secured in position, the base 16 forces the washer tightly against the glove, so that the glue penetrates the material. The body 11 of the washer is slightly larger than the base 16 of the fastener. To enable the washers to be handled freely, the glue is preferably covered with an openmesh fabric 13.
