[Cognate Application, 13,258/15.] Body armour.-To form a protective shield for soldiers and others a relatively small number or convex metal plates a are held between sheets of fabric formed into pockets by stitching c, c<1>, d, d<1>. Four plates are illustrated and the unprotected seams may be covered by taped-over me al bands k. A single composite sheet may be used as a breast-plate and secured round the neck and waist by straps, or as shown, two sheets for front and back may be secured by bands i and straps j. In this case shoulder plates n are provided on the bands i which may also carry additional plates p arranged crossways.
