5019. Sutcliffe, E. R., and Pure Coal Briquettes, Ltd. March 31. Fuel. - Coal, anthracite, or coke in a very finely comminuted condition is subjected to a preliminary compression resulting in compressed nodules, cakes, or blocks, and these, broken up if too large, are then subjected together to a further compression to produce briquettes or ovoids. Figs. 1 and 2 show, diagrammatically, means for making the preliminary nodules or flakes, and Fig. 3 a machine for compressing them into briquettes with freedom to expand each successive compression.
