Abstract

13,246. Harvey, W. H. May 29. Cameras, roll-film.-A roll-film camera is provided with a removable mask adapted to be arranged in front of the film to reduce the area exposed and enable more photographs to be taken on one length of film, means being provided for correctly feeding and positioning the film when the mask is in use. The mask d, Fig. 1, is provided with flanged edges f to fit between the frame a and rollers b, or with pins to engage apertures in the frame a. The back of the film may be provided with additional markings to enable the film to be positioned by bringing these markings opposite the inspection aperture h, or an additional inspection aperture n may be provided and a film with ordinary markings used. A circular indicator may be provided in connexion with the winding-handle for use in positioning the film. The mask may be in the form of a slide inserted into the camera through a lighttrapped slot. The view-finder may be provided with markings to indicate the restriction of the film area when the mask is in use. The invention may be applied to box cameras, the mask being engaged in a slot at one side and sprung into position at the other side, or a mask sliding through a slot in the side of the camera being used.
