Abstract
7209. Dessoliers, H. March 21, 1913, [Convention date]. Breakwaters, floating.-Floating wave-screens are constructed of a series of three members 1, 5, 8. The seaward screen 1 consists of trees or the like 2 bound together by tie-bars 3, their bases being secured between anchored weighted bars or girders 4 and their tops complete with their branches projecting above the surface. Floats may be employed, and the screen is free to swing about its anchoring points, floating more or less vertically. The second screen consists of a series of horizontal poles 6 linked by chains or cables 7 ballasted and anchored at the bottom, a portion of the screen floating on the surface. The third screen 8 consists of a net or grating, the portion which floats on the surface being secured to poles 9. The tops of the three screens are connected by chains or cables anchored to a bar 10.
