Loose-ball valves.-A ball valve e for controlling the supplementary air drawn into the induction pipe of an internal-combustion engine rests against an adjustable seating m when the suction is weak, and against a seating n when the suction is strong. Between these limits, the position of the ball determines the amount of air supplied. The two seatings may be joined by a cylindrical guide-part having fluted conical grooves, and the air passage between the ball and the bottom of the groove consequently varies. A hand-lever c acts on the spindle a and spring l to raise the ball e.
