Abstract

1511. Constantinesco, G., and Haddon, W. Jan. 20. Safety valves.-A safetv valve for use with means for reversing the direction of motion in hydraulic transmission of power systems such as described in Specification 5152/13, [Class 69 (ii), Hydraulic presses &c.], is shown in Fig. 8. Three cylinders 14, 15, 16 are provided with pistons 17, 18, 19, carrying plungers 20, 21, 22. Holes 24 in the pistons equalize the pressure on the two sides, and springs 25, 26, maintain the pistons in a mean position. The passages a<1>, b<1>, c<1> are connected with the three reciprocating columns. A rise of pressure in one of the columns causing the piston 17 to rise, would, by the increase of pressure in the chamber 28, cause the other plungers to fall, thus uncovering the ports 27 and allowing a transfer of liquid to take place.
