Abstract

19,662. Arcari, G. B. Aug. 30. Siphons.-In a siphon provided with a suction pump for starting siphonic action, the pump is provided with a valveless plunger 2, and a by-pass 7 is provided in the short leg 1 above the plunger when this is in its inoperative position. When the plunger is raised right above the tube 6, it draws water above the head and then starts the siphon. To allow the siphon to drain the receptacle completely, a shutter may be provided by which the by-pass 7 is closed after the siphon has been started.
