18,083. Haines, G. F. Aug. 8. Variable - speed and reversing toothed gearing, suitable for motorvehicles, comprises a driven wheel 5 with two pairs of concentric rings of bevel teeth 10, 11 and 12, 13, the plane of one p a i r being different from the plane of the other pair. The rings 12, 13 are engaged alternatively by a double pinion 31 fixed to a longitudinally-movable driving-shaft 21. The rings 10, 11 are engaged alternatively by a double pinion 32 sliding on the shaft 21. An oppositelydisposed movable bevel-wheel 14 is provided for reversed driving.
