Ball bearings. - A self-contained ball bearing for shafts, the axles of motor-vehicles, &c. has several rows of balls running between conical surfaces on two racerings 1, 11. The inner ring 1 has flanges 3, 4 at the edges of the ball track. The balls are spaced by a cage ring 6 formed with pockets 9, in which the balls are retained by burring or upsetting the outer edges 10<a> of the openings.
