Abstract

13,707. Tibbals, W. H. June 11. Portable pressure reservoirs.-Relates to a hand fire-extinguisher of the kind in which an extinguishing-liquid is contained in a cylinder 1 under the pressure of air or gas, which is adapted to force the liquid through a pipe 12 into a chamber 11 and a discharge passage 10. At one end of the passage 10 is a valve 14 operated by a screw 13, while at the other end is a valve-and-nozzle member 19, which has a central passage 21 and peripheral passages 22, so that a single stream of liquid is produced when the member 19 is screwed against its seat 20, and a spray is formed when the member 19 is slightly opened, some of the liquid escaping directly through the passages 22, and some passing around the outside of the enlarged head of the member 19. A pressure gauge 23 communicates with the chamber 11.
