4884. Smack, C. A. June 24, 1911, [Convention datel. Body attachments, buoyant.-Relates to buoyant rings made in half sections hinged together and applied round the neck of the wearer. The invention consists in securing the ring in position by straps passing under the arms. The ring is in half-sections 1, 2 hinged at 3, the hinge straps 6, 7 being extended and strengthened by throughbolts 8 ... 11. Straps are secured to rings 16, 17 and after passing under the arms of the wearer are tied to the front. The under portion of the ring is recessed to receive the shoulders.
