82. Bloxam, A. G., [Akt.-Ges. f³r Anilin- Fabrikation]. Jan. 1. 1-Aminoanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid and 2-aminoanthraquinone-3-carboxylic acid are obtained simultaneously by condensing 3-amino-4- carboxybenzoyl-o-benzoic acid with the aid of suitable condensing-agents such as fuming sulphuric acid, chlorsulphonic acid, &c. Benzoylbenzoic acid derivatives.-3-Amino-4- carboxybenzoyl-o-benzoic acid is produced by nitrating 4-methylbenzoyl-o-benzoic acid, oxidizing the methyl group, and reducing the resulting 3-nitro-4-carboxybenzoylbenzoic acid.
