Portable locks.-A lock preventing the misappropriation of luggage by securing it to a luggage rack or the like comprises a pin 1 guided with a sheath 2 by a segmental part 3 having a shank 7 surrounded by a spring 5 which presses against the segment 3 and against a fixed abutment 4. A plug 12 in the mouth of the sheath 2 is arranged to grip the pin 1. The segment 3 is locked in position by a spring catch 9 which is released by a key.
