7460. Griffiths, J. P. March 25. Wardrobes.-A wardrobe in which the front, or a portion thereof, and the whole width of one side are made to swing away bodily on vertical hingings at the junction of the side with the back is provided with a rod, extensible in the direction of the width of the wardrobe, to carry a number of coat-hangers or the like. The rod l, carrying the hangers m, is shown extended in Fig. 1, in which position the garments can be easily sorted, while when the wardrobe is closed, the rod is pushed in and part of it occupies the position shown in dotted lines, the garments being all confined to the space on the left of the divisional wall i. In a modification shown in Fig. 3, the rod l is so connected with the side c and front a, that it is automatically extended as the side and front are opened.
